Colombia Los Balseros is a washed Caturra from Huila, produced by Yessica Hoyos on the family estate Los Balseros. The farm is rooted in a longer family history, shaped first by a generation that worked in close relationship with the land and preserved the native forest around the estate. That foundation still supports the coffee today, while Yessica and Miller Hoyos continue to move the farm forward through new varieties, closer quality work, and a more experimental approach to processing and harvest selection.
This lot comes from Yessica’s work on the farm and shows a profile that feels both clear and slightly unexpected. The cup combines chocolate with the brighter note of pineapple, lifted further by a floral finish that gives it extra movement and freshness. With a score of 87, it is a washed coffee that remains approachable while still offering something more distinctive — a good fit for drinkers who want balance, clarity, and a little more character in the cup.
