Excellent decaf is hard to come by. Because decaffeination adds an extra step to production, it naturally drives up the cost. Many roasteries prefer to invest their budget into premium regular beans rather than paying for this processing step. Combine that with lower market demand, and finding a spectacular decaf becomes a serious challenge.
Grown in the Santa Maria community in Huila, Colombia, and decaffeinated using the natural sugar-cane (EA) process, this washed coffee keeps a deep, comforting chocolate profile: milk chocolate, creamy body and cacao. A blend of varieties – Castillo, Pink Bourbon, Caturra, Colombia and Typica – sits behind it. The one to reach for in the evening, or any time you want the cup without the kick.
